Independence
This is not an SGPC website, a Guru Nanak Dev University website, an official Samundri–Sandhu family archive, or a government project. It is not currently a registered charity or foundation. It has not sought, and does not imply, the endorsement of any institution or family. Family testimony is valued and is published — but as clearly attributed testimony, subject to the same provenance rules as every other source, not as an official family record.
Method
Every substantive historical claim on this site is tagged with an evidence tier and linked to its source, and every claim has its own stable record page. See Sources & Method for the full system, the Claim Explorer for the claims themselves, and Open Research Questions for what remains unresolved.
Corrections
If you believe a claim on this site is wrong or incomplete, the correct route is to identify the specific page and claim identifier (shown on every claim record and in Researcher View), the proposed correction, and a source — ideally with a page number or archival reference. Corrections are never published automatically; they are reviewed and, where adopted, logged before the page changes. See the corrections policy.
Contact
Public project contact routes will be published here once operational infrastructure is independently confirmed. No contact route is advertised on this page prematurely, and no institution or family has been approached on the archive’s behalf.
Privacy and technology
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads nothing from any third party, and sends nothing anywhere. The display preferences it remembers — Researcher View, and the appearance you choose — stay in your own browser and never leave it. Search runs entirely in your browser over an index built into the site. Every page is readable with JavaScript disabled; scripts only add filtering and convenience.
Accessibility
The site is built to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard as a working target: semantic structure, a skip link, visible focus, keyboard-operable evidence drawers and menus, text that is never conveyed by colour alone, and respect for reduced-motion and dark-mode preferences. Automated and manual checks are run on every build; the results of the most recent review are held in the project’s evidence records. If something does not work for you, that is a defect and a correction is welcome by the route above.
Languages
The archive’s editorial languages are English and Punjabi (Gurmukhi). Punjabi content is a machine-assisted structural draft — native-language review pending — and is marked as such on every page where it appears. See the translation status.
Long-term preservation
This site is built as a static, Git-backed archive with no required database, so that the underlying record can outlast any particular hosting arrangement. A copy of the built site from any point in its history is itself a complete, readable record. Object checksums and periodic dated snapshots are part of the preservation plan; no external preservation platform is deployed at the archive’s current scale.
Images
No image appears anywhere on this site because no image with cleared provenance and rights yet exists in the archive’s holdings. See the Archive and the image provenance policy. The typographic mark in the header and the social-preview card are abstract and non-historical.
