The new village: Chak 140 GB

The family’s new village was Chak 140 GB — “GB” denoting the Gugera Branch canal, standard nomenclature in the Punjab canal colonies. It lies today in Faisalabad district, Pakistan (Lyallpur was renamed Faisalabad in 1977).

This is the exact wording approved for public display. It is never strengthened beyond what the tier — Well supported — permits.
